I recently read the quote, “No one can go back and start a new beginning, but anyone can start today and make a new ending”. I then began to think about that statement. And how the conclusion was that we don’t start over; but we begin again right where we are, making things better in our lives.
As a follower of Christ, it is not about saying do this or that and then forgetting the idea or falling short. It is more about asking the Lord to help us each day, to fall deeper and deeper in love with Him. This way our focus is set on the things of heaven and not on all of our earthly possessions.
If I was able to change one this about this year, it would be to have a deeper commitment, a deeper love, a deeper worship, and a deeper understanding for the Lord. In the beginning of this year, He spoke to me in that still small voice in prayer and said, “you will get there”. And I never understood what that meant. Until the other night when I finally broke down and cried out for him in such desperation. I was humiliated and heartbroken because I knew the reason I felt so lost and hopeless was because I was purposefully ignoring him! And when I finally gave up the early possession I was holding on to, I heard him again with the same words “you will get there”. This year I am determined to make Him my all and all. He wants our undivided attention in spite of the distractions and temptations that lie waiting around the corner. He has to be our main focus. So this year will end on a good note! I will make him my all in all, and I will focus only on him and where he wants me.
